Our names are Brianna and Courtney Reynolds-Smith. We are 22-year-old sisters currently Olympic Campaigning in the 49er FX sailing class aiming for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

 

Between the two of us we have won 8 national titles, earned one Olympic Qualification spot, and we share a junior world title. The last five years of our lives has evolved around our Olympic aspirations and this year we were tracking well to achieving our goal of a medal at the Junior World Championships.  

 

Unfortunately, we lost our chance at winning a medal at this year’s Junior World Championships because Courtney caught Covid on Day Two of the event. We were 5th overall prior, and we were on the woman’s podium. We feel absolutely gutted to be robbed of the result. Furthermore, we also could not complete the European Championship because Brie had covid. This situation is heartbreaking as we have no results from 2022. Consequently, we have not been able to secure funding next year.

 

We are still hungry for it. We want our fair shot.
